President & CEO
My primary role is to make sure the Crystal team has what they need so they can properly service our customers. I also focus on methods and solutions that enable our customers to increase the efficiency of resiliency of their video and data networks. I rely on customer observations and communications, as well as the Crystal sales and implementation teams, to understand where operational issues exist and then lead a collaborative group to design solutions. I also stay involved with the development team to ensure that the solutions Crystal builds satisfy the needs of our customers. In addition to my day-to-day duties at Crystal, I serve as a member of the board of directors for the World Teleport Association and participate in some of their sub-committees. I also stay involved with some video standards groups of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and the Interference Reduction Group (IRG).
What do you do in your spare time?
Most of my spare time is spent with my wife and daughters. But, I enjoy teaching, cooking, and cars. Fortunately, I can combine that enjoyment with my family by teaching my youngest daughter to play softball and my oldest daughter to drive. I spend a few hours a week also helping them both out with math (something else I like.) On Sundays, I’m usually teaching 4th and 5th graders at my church. My wife, who grew up in France where food is a significant part of life, appreciates my cooking, too. I get to be a bit more creative in the kitchen as I work to prepare a well balanced meal. During the times when the family is out and I have time to myself, I love working on and maintaining my 2002 BMW M5, or just driving it on a race track. (And yes, I am teaching my daughter to drive this car so she’ll know how to drive a manual transmission.)
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
