Patriot’s Award given to acknowledge employer support during active duty
Duluth, Ga. – August 26, 2015 – Crystal, a leader in network monitoring and management solutions, announced today that its CEO, Roger Franklin, has been presented with the Patriot’s Award from the Employee Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) organization, an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense.
The Patriot’s Award recognizes organizations for their support for National Guard and Reserve members in their role as a service member and an employee, relieving them of monthly obligations by allowing them time off as needed and providing assistance upon return to civilian life.
As part of the award program, National Guard and Reserve members across the U.S. are eligible to nominate their employers. Jason Chatham was the Reserve member who nominated Crystal based on the company’s support while he was deployed and taking part in duty. Crystal not only maintained Jason’s financial and job security benefits, but also increased his responsibilities upon return.
“Roger went above and beyond and financially supported my family and me, as well as maintained my employee contract. That meant that I didn’t have as much stress as I would have had upon deployment,” said Jason Chatham, VP of Professional Services at Crystal. “I was able to concentrate on the job at hand knowing my family was provided for.”
“I am proud of Jason for fulfilling his commitment to the Navy and our country when they called him back into active duty from the Reserves. I admire his dedication and work ethic, and am pleased that I could support him and his family,” said Roger Franklin, CEO of Crystal. “He served his country well knowing that Crystal would continue that support upon his return, and we are fortunate to have him part of our team.”
Jason was gone a total of 15 months, nine of which were spent in Afghanistan.
