A study from Persistence Market Research (PMR) is predicting that the global programmatic advertising platform market is set to enjoy a compound annual growth of 33.3% from 2017 to 2025 when it will likely be worth around $30 billion.
The growth was described by PMR as “staggering expansion” and compared with the $1,926 billon recorded at the end of 2016.
PMR’s survey showed that North America was projected to be the largest market for programmatic advertising platform, followed by Europe and Asia Pacific (APAC). Market in this region are set to account for revenues worth $1.683 billion in 2017, and is further estimated to surpass $13 billion by the end of 2025. However, the Middle East & Africa (MEA) is anticipated to register fastest growth in the global programmatic advertising platform market, followed by Latin America.
Based on transaction mode, PMR forecasts that the real-time bidding segment will remain preferred in the market during the forecast period. This transaction mode is expected to surpass $16 billion in revenues by 2025. In contrast, private marketplace transaction mode is projected to exhibit the fastest expansion at 46.7% CAGR through to 2025. PMR believes that the will create an incremental opportunity of $5.788 billion between 2017 and 2025.
By ad format, the PMR survey showed revenues generated by mobile video are expected to reach $8.683 billion by 2025, registering the highest CAGR in the market, followed by mobile display. In terms of revenues, desktop video will be the second largest ad format segment by 2025-end.
